Not only cell phone that can push notifications, desktop PC can also be through Google's new feature to its Gmail e-mail service. Google has recently released a desktop notification for new emails and instant messages.
This feature can be enjoyed all Gmail users, but for now just to walk through the Google Chrome browser only. Plan ahead, Google will expand it to other browsers like Firefox have support HTML5 4 and Internet Explorer 9.
The way is reload your Gmail tab there will be options to enable desktop notification, or try manually by going to Settings - scroll down to Desktop Notification - select the desired type of notification (chats, new messages, and new important messages.)
When this feature is still yet to be found on your premises, the possibility of delay does occur because of the many users of Google Chrome browser and wait for the next few days
